Cattlevoltaics: Solar Cattle Grazing Update

Cattlevoltaics: Solar Cattle Grazing Update

As the solar grazing world continues to evolve, cattle are becoming an increasingly important part of the conversation, offering new opportunities for land use on solar sites.

Join the American Solar Grazing Association on Wednesday, October at 6 PM ET (5 PM Central) for ASGA's upcoming webinar Cattlevoltaics: Solar Cattle Grazing Update. This session will take a closer look at the emerging practices, challenges, and innovations around integrating cattle with solar arrays.

YES, I WANT TO ATTEND

We’ll be joined by Josh Bennett of H2 Enterprises and Huwa Enterprises, who will share their experience adapting utility-scale solar sites for cattle grazing. From site design to daily operations, Josh will walk us through lessons learned and the practical realities of managing cattle under the panels.

We’ll also hear from Jess and Marcus Gray of Gray’s Lambscaping, who will discuss their development of a cattlevoltaics program that combines cattle and sheep, offering insights on breed selection, vegetation management, and how to design solar sites for co-grazing success.

Finally, we’ll explore new cutting-edge solar tracker designs coming out with James McKinion of Helical Solar, whose team has piloted an dual-axis tracker designed specifically for cattle integration. Installed directly in a working feedlot, their elevated tracker allows full-scale cattle operations and row cropping without disrupting traditional agricultural methods—while providing critical shade that reduces heat stress and supports animal health.
