Free webinar gives growers chance to learn from peers

Make the most of the 2025 grazing season featuring images of David Kleinschmidt and Dan Sanderson with Illinois Grazing Lands Coalition

The Illinois Grazing Lands Coalition has announced the launch of Grow and Graze, a new quarterly webinar series designed to help Illinois producers improve profitability through better forage management and grazing practices.

This free educational series will feature real-world strategies from experienced farmers and technical experts in a peer-to-peer panel format.

The first session begins at 7 p.m. Monday, June 17 and is open to all producers and landowners in Illinois. Topics will include forage selection for summer grazing, strategies to improve pasture recovery and planning now to build winter stockpiles.

Featured panelists include:

  • Dan Sanderson, owner of Pasture Grazed Regenerative Farm in northern Illinois, who will share insights on adaptive grazing practices, multispecies management, and infrastructure for adaptive rotational grazing.

  • David Kleinschmidt, owner of Progressive Agronomy Consulting, known for his practical guidance on forage selection and soil health.

Grow and Graze is designed to connect producers to peers and experts who have successfully implemented grazing strategies. We’re creating a space where producers can share what’s working in their grazing systems and help one another make more informed, profitable decisions.
